Privacy Policy

How Pure Golf Tour handles your data. Effective 1 June 2026.

Who we are

Pure Golf Tour (“the Tour”, “we”) operates this app and is the data controller for the personal data described here.

Questions or requests about your data: privacy@puregolftour.com.

What we collect

You give us: your email address, your name, and your golf handicap. On joining you’re assigned a membership number. You also give us the rounds you post — course, date, tee, gross score and your hole-by-hole scores — plus any pin positions and notes you record (notes can be kept private or shared with the Tour).

We generate or receive: the standings and Honours Board entries your rounds produce; integrity records if a query is raised about a card (see “What other members can see”); and technical data — your IP address, browser/device, a sign-in session cookie, and error reports that help us fix crashes.

If you photograph a scorecard to enter your scores instead of typing them, the image is sent to be read into numbers and isn’t stored by us, and because a card can also show your playing partners, only photograph one you’re content to share.

We do not collect your home club, track your location, or use any advertising or analytics trackers.

Where your data is stored

Your database and its backups are hosted in the European Union (AWS Europe, Paris). A few service providers (below) may process limited data outside the UK/EU under appropriate safeguards.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • To run the Tour — your membership, your card, the Order of Merit and the Honours Boards. Basis: our contract with you.
  • To protect the integrity of the competition — the Inquiry system and related checks. Basis: legitimate interests / contract.
  • To keep the service secure and working — sign-in, error monitoring, abuse prevention. Basis: legitimate interests.
  • Essential messages — such as your sign-in code. Basis: contract.
  • Any optional messages — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

What other members can see

Pure Golf Tour is a competition, so some information is visible to other members by design. Joining means accepting this:

  • Your name, membership number and handicap;
  • The rounds you post (scores, course, date), pin positions, and any notes you choose to share;
  • Your position on the Order of Merit and the Honours Boards.

Kept private: notes you mark private are never shown to other members. The Inquiry system is confidential — if you query a card, your identity and reason are seen only by the Commissioner and any appointed reviewer, never by the member concerned. If a query concerns you, you are told only that an inquiry is open and its general nature.

Who we share data with

We use a small number of providers who process data on our behalf, under contract, never for their own purposes:

  • Supabase — database, sign-in and hosting (EU);
  • Vercel — application hosting;
  • Sentry — error and crash monitoring;
  • Cloudflare — an invisible check on sign-in that tells humans from bots (Turnstile), which processes limited technical data such as your IP and browser signals. See Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Policy;
  • Anthropic — reads a photographed scorecard into your scores, when you use that option; the image is processed only to extract the numbers and is not used to train its models;
  • Apple — App Store / TestFlight distribution.

We do not sell your personal data, and we don’t share it with advertisers. We may disclose data if the law requires it.

International transfers

Your core data stays in the EU. Where a provider above handles data outside the UK/EU, we rely on appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU-US / UK-US Data Privacy Framework).

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as you’re a member, and for a reasonable period afterwards for records, legal and integrity reasons. When data is deleted from our live systems it may remain in encrypted backups until those rotate out on their normal cycle; during that window it is not used and is not restored into service.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data-protection law you have the right to access your data; have inaccurate data corrected; request erasure; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. You can delete your account at any time from the Locker Room.

To exercise any of these, email privacy@puregolftour.com.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or your local EU supervisory authority.

Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, row-level access controls on our database, restricted administrative access, and an append-only audit log for integrity actions. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and will notify you and the relevant regulator of a qualifying breach as the law requires.

Age

Pure Golf Tour is for adults — you must be 18 or over to join. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, contact us and we’ll remove it.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies — so there’s nothing to consent to, and no cookie banner.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated to members.
